Twenty-four WILKES-BARRE RECORD, WEDNESDAY, MAY 18, 1938 T. Williams, Organist, Dies Associated With Trust Department of Miners National Bank Ellsworth T. Williams, 45, of 69 Second Avenue, Kingston, an employe of trust department of Miners National Bank, died yesterday morning shortly after 5 in Wyoming Valley Homeopathic Hospital. Stricken ill a week ago, Mr. Williams who had been Wyoming Baptist Church organist for the last 10 years, went to the hospital where he underwent two operations in the week.

Mr. Williams was born at Pittaton, the son of Prof. Thomas R. and Margaret Martin Williams. He lived Boston for several years while a boy but resided the greater part of his life in the Pittston section.

He has been living Kingston for the last 10 years. his employment in Miners Bank, he was employed at the State DeState Department of Banking in the Liberty Bank Building, North Main Street, city. A talented musician, Mr. Williams in addition to being organist for the Wyoming Church, was pianist for Alexander Quartet of this His father once served as of music department in Pittston Schools. Mr.

Williams was a member of Pittston Baptist Church; Valley Forge, F. and A. Pittston Chapter, Royal Arch Masons, and Irem Temple. Survivors are his widow, the former Elva Mae Chambers; two children, Shirley Seth; a sister, Mrs. Harry Pethick, Kingston; a brother, Robert Williams, city, and his step-mother, Mrs.

Thomas R. Williams, West Pittston, He was a nephew of Joseph Bank of the Bank's Construction Company. The funeral will be held from the home of his brother-in-law, Harry G. Pethick, 29 First Avenue, Kingston, Friday afternoon at 2:30. S.

C. Rogers, Aged 64, Dies Retired Mine Official Was Janitor of Sugar Notch Church Stephen C. Rogers, 64, retired machiniet and pump runner at the Sugar Notch Colliery of the Lehigh Valley Coal Company, died at 8 yesterday morning at his home, 301 Broadway Avenue, Sugar Notch, Mr. Rogers was born in Plains Malvina Rogers, early settlers of Township the son of Lawrence and that section. In 1902 he went to work in the soft coal mines near Pittsburgh where he later became aseistant superintendent of the Cosgrove Returning Coal to this Company.

Charles's Cemetery. Daniel V. Carichner, Rail Engineer, Dies Daniel V. Carichner, 74, retired Pennsylvania Railroad engineer and honor roll man of that railroad, died Monday night at his home, 18 North Mill Street, West Nantico*ke: Mr. Carichner was born in Newport Center, the son of the late Leviah and Sara Carichner, on July 23, 1863, and lived in Wyoming Valley his entire life.

He was member of West Nantico*ke M. E. Church, Moose Lodge Sunbury, Jr. 0. U.

A. of WilkesBarre and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. "Old Dan" was affectionately called by railroadmen entered the service of Pennsylvania Railroad on its Sunbury Division as a brakeman in 1884. Soon after he became a fireman and on December 1, 1891, was promoted to engineer. For 45 years, two months and 16 days Mr.

Carichner railroaded without once missing a call or reporting late for duty. Surviving are his wife, Marion and these children: Samuel, Pittston: Charles, Scranton; Mrs. Henry Kieft, Detroit; Ralph, Jackson; Arthur of Lehman; Keziah, Philadelphia; Mrs. George Hamilton, Shickshinny; Mrs. Charles O.

Robinson, Rail Conductor, Dies James W. Robinson, 59, North Sumner Avenue, Scranton, dropped dead early yesterday morning while on his way home after completing a run as conductor on the Lackawanna Railroad from New York to Scranton. Death was caused by a hemorrhage. Mr. Robinson was born in England and had lived in Lackawanna County since a boy.

He was A member of Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and Simpson Methodist Episconal Church. Surviving are his wife and two children. William and Bernice: two atensons. Albert Morgan of WashInston and Morgan of Scrantons and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Rogers of Wilkes-Barre.

J. B. Fassett, Banker, Dies Descendant of Old Wyoming County Family Was Civic Leader John Benton Fassett, 71, founder of the Citizens' National Bank and one of the most prominent business men and leaders in Wyoming County, at 8 yesterday morncivic, ing at his home, 25 West Tioga Street, Tunkhannock, following heart attack. Mr. Fassett was born in Scottsville, Wyoming County, December 19, 1867, the son of Josiah Fassett whose family settled in that section in 1795.

His grandfather, Major John Fassett was the first postmaster of Scottsville. On February 26, 1902, he married Margaret Torrey of Scranton, Besides his widow he is survived by a son Alvah; a daughter, Mrs. Jessie Davenport and four grandchildren, Barbara and John Benton and Margaret Jane Fassett and Malcolm Arthur Davenport, The funeral will be held from his late West Tioga Street, Thursday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. F. W.

Church, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery at Tunkhannock. Mr. Fassett came to Tunkhannock as cashier of the Wyoming Bank in 1894. In 1902 he founded the Citizens' National Bank and was made president which position he held at his death.

He was president of Brown and Fassett feed Mill, a director in the Scranton Life Insurance Company, trustee of Pittston Hospital, a member of the official board of Tunkhannock Methodist Episcopal Church, a blue Mi lodge Mason and a member of Shrine, Irem Temple, WilkesBarre. Before coming to Tunkhannock he had been associated with his father in the lumber business and at Mehoopany. He was graduated from Wyoming Seminary in 1887. OBITUARY MRS. LAURA YOUNG Mrs.

She lived for sometime in Alden and took up her residence with her husband at Dunellen about six weeks ago.
